شارك معهد القديس يوحنّا الدمشقي اللاهوتي ممثلًا بالأب العميد بورفيريوس جرجي، مدير قسم الدكتوراه في المعهد، والأب بسام ناصيف أستاذ اللاهوت الرعائي، في تنظيم المؤتمر الدولي العاشر لبرامج الدكتوراه في اللاهوت – الدكتوراليا (Doctoralia)، الذي أُقيم في كلية ديميتري ستالينواي اللاهوتية، جامعة ألكساندرو إيوان كوزا في ياش – رومانيا (Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi)، في 7 و 8 أيار 2018، وذلك بحضور عمداء، وأساتذة، وكهنة، وطلاب أقسام الدكتوراه في اللاهوت.
احتفلت الدكتوراليا هذه السنة بالذكرى السنويّة العاشرة لها. وقد انطلقت عام 2008 بمبادرة محليّة من كليّة اللاهوت في جامعة ياش، وفتحت أبوابها بعد أربع سنوات لانضمام كلّيات لاهوتيّة من خارج رومانيا. في عام 2013، انضمت الكليّة الكاثوليكيّة للاهوت في جامعة كارل فرانتس في غراتس، النمسا (Karl Franzes University of Graz, Austria)، ككليّة مشاركة في تنظيم الدكتوراليا، وفي عام 2016، انضم برنامج الدكتوراه في معهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقي اللاهوتي في جامعة البلمند أيضًا الى هذه الشراكة.
في حفل افتتاح المؤتمر نقل الأب بورفيريوس البركات الرسوليّة والتحيات الفصحيّة من صاحب الغبطة يوحنّا العاشر، بطريرك أنطاكية وسائر المشرق، كما نقل أحرّ التهاني من زملائه في جامعة البلمند. وأعرب عن فرحه بهذا اللقاء اللاهوتي والأكاديمي مع الأساتذة والطلبة في برامج الدكتوراه، القادمين من جامعات مختلفة في ست دول: رومانيا وجمهورية مولدوفا وصربيا واليونان، وألمانيا، ولبنان. أوضح الأب بورفيريوس أن مؤتمر الدكتوراليا هو نافذة مفتوحة نحو الحوار. " وقال بأنّ اللاهوت يشكّل أولاً وقبل كل شيء علم الحوار، الحوار بين الله والبشر، بين الكنيسة والتاريخ، بين الحياة الأكاديميّة والحياة الروحيّة، بين الإيمان والعلم، بين التقليد والحداثة...".
ثم قدَّم الأب بورفيريوس المحاضرة الافتتاحيّة للمؤتمر بعنوان: "والدة النور: مريم العذراء في تعاليم القديس غريغوريوس بالاماس." كما وقدّم الأب بسّام ناصيف من معهد اللاهوت في البلمند محاضرة بعنوان: "الحب في عصر ما بعد الحداثة والرؤية الأرثوذكسية الروحيّة".
في نهاية المؤتمر، أعرب الأب بورفيريوس عن شكره لصاحب السيادة ثيوفان، متروبوليت مولدوفيا وبوكوفينا، ولجامعة ألكساندرو إيوان كوزا في ياش، وللأب البروفيسور فيوريل سافا، منسق مؤتمر الدكتوراليا، لكرم ضيافتهم ولتنظيمهم المتمايز.
The Tenth International Symposium of Studia Theologica Doctoralia
The St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology at the University of Balamand, represented by the Dean Fr. Porphyrios Georgi, the Director of the PhD program at the Institute of theology, and Fr. Bassam Nassif, Assistant Professor of Pastoral Theology, participated in organizing the Tenth International Symposium of the Studia Theologica Doctoralia. This Symposium was held at the Dumitru Staniloae Faculty of Theology, the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, from 7 to 8 May 2018, in the presence of deans, professors, priests, and students of theology.
This year Doctoralia celebrates its 10th anniversary. It started in 2008 by a local initiative of the Faculty of Theology of the University of Iasi and opened its doors four years later to theological faculties outside Romania. In 2013, the Roman Catholic Faculty of Theology at the Karl Franzes University of Graz, Austria, joined Iasi as a co-organizer of Doctoralia, and in 2016, the PhD program at the St. John of Damascus Faculty of Theology in the University of Balamand also entered into this partnership.
In the opening Symposium ceremony, Fr. Porphyrios relayed the apostolic blessings and paschal greetings of His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, and the warmest greetings of his colleagues at the University of Balamand. He expressed his joy for the theological and academic gathering of professors and students of the PhD programs, coming from various university in six countries: Romania, Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Greece, Germany, and Lebanon. Fr. Porphyrios explained that Doctoralia is a window open towards dialogue. “For theology, he said, is first and foremost a science of dialogue, dialogue between God and humanity, between the church and history, between academic life and spiritual life, between faith and science, and between tradition and modernity...”
At the end of the opening ceremony, Fr. Porphyrios gave the keynote inaugural lecture titled: “The Mother of Light: The Virgin Mary in the Teaching of St. Gregory Palamas.” Also, Fr. Bassam Nassif from the Institute of Theology in Balamand gave a lecture titled: “Postmodern Love and the Orthodox Spiritual Perspective.”
At the end of the Symposium, Fr. Porphyrios expressed his thankfulness for His Eminence Teofan, Metropolitan of Moldovia and Bukovina, the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, and Fr. Professor Viorel Savva, the Coordinator of the Doctoralia for their generous hospitality and their excellent organization.
