ندوة "دور الأشخاص المعوقين ومكانتهم في الكنيسة والمجتمع"
برعاية بطريرك أنطاكية وسائر المشرق صاحب الغبطة يوحنا العاشر، أقيم في معهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقي اللاهوتي في جامعة البلمند ندوة بعنوان "دور الأشخاص المعوقين ومكانتهم في الكنيسة والمجتمع "بالتعاون مع مجلس كنائس الشرق الأوسط والشبكة المسكونية لمناصرة الأشخاص المعوقين وذلك في قاعة البطريرك اغناطيوس الرابع. استهلت الندوة بكلمة للبطريرك يوحنا العاشر القاها عميد معهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقي اللاهوتي في جامعة البلمند الأب بورفيريوس جرجي قال فيها :"يدعونا الله الى شركة محبته ،محبة تخترق حواجز البشر ،محبة تستمد عزمها من حياة الثالوث القدوس من المحبة المتبادلة بين الأقانيم الالهية، وقد استعلنت هذه المحبة بشكلها الأجلى على الصليب. وتابع "قبولنا الصليب في حياتنا هو خير تعبير عن قبولنا لمحبة الله،وعن سعينا لنشر هذه المحبة بين البشر ،كل حامل صليب هو أيقونة،هو أيقونة المسيح الذي انتصر بالصليب على "العدو الأخير"ونشاطكم اليوم يعز علينا ،لأنه اضاءة على أخوة حاملين صليب صليب المسيح في الاعاقة،وهم من خلال مثابرتهم يعكسون لنا نور الحياة الذي وحده يعزينا في هذه الأزمنة الصعبة ،الأزمنة التي نعيش فيها ،والتي تقول لنا أن البقاء هو للأقوى نواجهها نحن بقول الرب للرسول بولس :"تكفيك قوتي لأن قوتي في الضعف تكمل"وتلا ذلك ،كلمة لمجلس كنائس الشرق الأوسط الأب ميشال جلخ أمين عام المجلس ،ومن بعدها ،قدم الأب جرجي قراءة النقدية للوثيقة اللاهوتية "كنيسة الكل للكل"بعد ذلك ، كانت مداخلة للأب انطوان عوكر بعنوان "الاعاقة والبعد اللاهوتي الكنسي والرعوي "واختتمت الجلسات الأولى للندوة بمداخلة للأستاذ فادي الحلبي.
وفي اليوم التالي، السبت 9 أيار 2015، شرح الاستاذ فادي الحلبي "الأبعاد النفسية والاجتماعية للإعاقة"، وشارك أيضًا الأب ميلاد عوض حول موضوع "الإعاقة وسرّ الكهنوت" والدكتور دانيال عيوش حول "قم واحمل سريرك: يسوع وقيود الشعب. وبعد الاستراحة تكلم الأب بسام ناصيف حول "رعاية الكاهن للعائلة التي لديها أولاد معوّقين" والأرشمندريت يعقوب الخوري حول "البعد الروحي للإعاقة الجسدية" والاستاذة غيا خوري حول "الإعاقة والدمج المدرسي". اختتمت الندوة بتقييم من قبل عميد المعهد الأب بورفيريوس جرجي والاستاذ فادي الحلبي.
A Seminar on: “The Role of Persons with Disabilities and their Place in the Church and Society.”
Under the High Patronage of His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, and in collaboration with the Middle East Council of Churches and the Ecumenical Disability Advocates Network, a two day seminar was held at the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology at the University of Balamand, entitled: “The Role of Persons with Disabilities and their Place in the Church and Society.”
The seminar took place at the Patriarch Ignatius IV Conference Room. it was opened by a speech from His Beatitude Patriarch John X, given in His name by Fr. Porphyrios Georgy, Dean of the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology. In his speech His Beatitude directed the audience that: “God invites us to be united by His love, love that goes beyond humans’ obstacles, love that derives from the life of the Holy Trinity, from the love of the Holy Trinity, Love that was revealed on the Cross.” He continued that: “our acceptance of the Cross in our lives is the best expression of our acceptance to God’s Love, and we strive to spread this love among humans. Everyone who holds the Cross is an icon, an Icon of Christ who triumphed by the Cross on the ‘last enemy.’ Your activity cherishes us today for it draws attention to our brothers who hold the Cross, the Cross of Christ, with their disability. They reflect to us the light of life, which alone comforts us in these difficult times. Times in which tell us that survival is for the strongest. Times that we confront by God’s words to Saint Paul: “My Grace is sufficient for thee, for My Strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor 12:9). The speech was followed by a word from the Middle East Council of Churches General Secretary, Fr. Michel Jalakh. Later Fr. Porphyrios presented a critical review of the theological document “the Church of all to all”. After that it was the intervention of Fr. Antoine Awkar entitled: “the Disability and the Theological, Ecclesiastical and Pastoral Dimensions”. The first day of the seminar was concluded by a lecture presented by Professor Fadi Halabi.
On the next day, Saturday May 9 2015, Professor Halabi explained “the Psychological and Social Dimensions of Disability”. Fr. Milad Awad also presented a lecture on “Disability and the Mystery of Priesthood”. Dr. Daniel Ayuch presented a lecture titled “Arise and Take your Bed: Jesus and the Constraints of the people”. After the break, Fr. Bassam Nassif presented a lecture titled “The Pastor Care for Families with Disabled Children” and Archimandrite Jack Khoury presented a paper titled “The Spiritual Dimension of Physical Disability”. Professor Ghya Khoury lectured on disability and school integration. The Seminar was concluded by an evaluation presented by Fr. Porphyrios and Mr. Halabi.
