نائب وزير خارجيّة اليونان في البلمند
توطيدًا للعلاقات المميزة والتاريخيّة التي تجمع الدولة اليونانيّة مع جامعة البلمند، أقامت أسرة معهد القديس يوحنّا الدمشقي اللاهوتي مأدبة على شرف نائب وزير خارجيّة اليونان للشؤون الدينيّة والثقافيّة السيد ايانوس اماناتيديس على رأس وفد دبلوماسي، وبحضور رئيس جامعة البلمند الدكتور إيلي سالم، والعمداء، وعدد من الأساتذة والكهنة والطلاب.
بدايةً، رحّب قدس الأب بورفيريوس جرجي عميد المعهد بالسيد اماناتيديس والوفد المرافق، معبرًا عن الفرح الكبير الذي يغمر أسرة المعهد بهذا اللقاء. وأكّد على أنَّ هذا المكان كان دائمًا موضع لقاء بين الكنيستين والحضارتين اليونانيّة والأنطاكيّة، مذكّرًا بأنَّ أحد العمداء الأوائل للمعهد كان سيادة الميتروبوليت بندلايمون رودوبولوس مطران تيرولويس الذي كان له الفضل الكبير بالمشاركة في تأسيس المعهد والعمل به ودعوة أساتذة من اليونان للتدريس فيه. لذا، أكّد الأب بورفيريوس أنَّ هذه الزيارة هي استمرار لتقليد قديم، متمنيًا دوامه.
أما السيد اماناتيديس، فقد عبّر عن فرحه بالتواجد في هذا المكان المقدس، شاكرًا كرم الضيافة الذي يعبّر عن المحبة الكبيرة التي تجمع بين الكليات اللاهوتيّة بين البلدين. وأكّد السيد اماناتيديس على أنّ الأيام القادمة ستجلب ريح مؤاتية لعمل مشترك وتعاون كبير. وتلا ذلك تبادل الهدايا التذكاريّة.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece at Balamand
On Wednesday May, 5, 2017, the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology organized a banquet in honor of His Excellency Ioannis Amanatidis, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for religious and cultural affairs of Greece accompanied by a diplomatic delegation, in the presence of the President of the University of Balamand, Dr. Elie Salem, deans, faculty and students.
At the beginning, Fr. Porphyrios Georgi, Dean of the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology welcomed His Excellency and the accompanying delegation. He expressed the overwhelming joy of the Institute’s family for this occasion. Fr. Porphyrios also stressed the fact that the Institute has always been a place of meeting between the Greek and the Antiochian Churches and cultures. He recalled that one of the early deans of the Institute was His Eminence Metropolitan Panteleimon (Rodopoulos) of Tyroloa and Serentium, who greatly contributed to the establishment of the Institute and the invitation of professors from Greece to teach at the Institute. Fr. Porphyrios also articulated that this visit is a continuation of an old tradition, wishing for its continuation.
His Excellency, the Deputy Minister also expressed his joy for being present in this holy place. He expressed his gratitude for the generous hospitality which reflects the mutual love and respect between the theological schools of the two countries. He also stressed that the coming days will bring favorable wind for joint work and cooperation. At the end, souvenir gifts were exchanged.
