الدكتور جورج تامر يُلقي محاضرة في معهد اللاهوت
ألقى الدكتور جورج نقولا تامر، أستاذ كرسي الدراسات الشرقيّة في جامعة فريديرك-ألكسندر إيرلنغن-نورنبرغ في ألمانيا ومختص في الدراسات الإسلامية والفلسفة العربية، محاضرةً بعنوان "مفهوم الزمان في الإسلام والمسيحية"، وذلك بعد ظهر الأربعاء 30-3-2016 في قاعة البطريرك إغناطيوس الرابع، في معهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقي اللاهوتي. استمرت المحاضرة من الساعة الثالثة بعد الظهر وحتى الخامسة مساء، بحضور ملاك أبرشية طرابلس والكورة، سيادة المتروبوليت أفرام (كرياكوس)، ومجموعة من الأساتذة والمختصّين وطلاّب المعهد.
كانت البداية مع عميد المعهد، قدس المتقدّم في الكهنة، الأب بورفيريوس جرجي، والذي عرَّف عن الدكتور تامر ورحّب به، ليكون الحديث بعدها للدكتور تامر والذي تحدَّث عن مفهوم الزمن لدى المسيحية ثم لدى الإسلام، ليخلُص إلى أنهما تشتركان في اعتبار الزمن مخلوقاً من الله، وهو إطار مجرّد يحيا فيه الناس، إلا أن الإسلام يضيِّق المدى المتروك لحريّة الإنسان، وللأزمنة في التبدُّل حسب نظامها الذاتي. تكلّلت المحاضرة بمجموعة من الأسئلة أجاب عليها الدكتور تامر. ويُشار إلى أن هذه المحاضرة كانت الأخيرة من سلسلة محاضرات ألقاها الدكتور تامر في المعهد ضمن برنامج التبادل العلمي بين المعهد وجامعة فريديرك-ألكسندر إيرلنغن-نورنبرغ في ألمانيا.
Professor Georges Tamer Lectures at the Institute of Theology
Professor Dr. Georges Tamer delivered a lecture at the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology on Wednesday afternoon March 30, 2016. Professor Dr. Georges Tamer holds the chair of the Oriental Philosophy and Islamic Studies at the Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen, Nuremberg. The lecture was titled “The Concept of Time in Islam and Christianity.” Dr. Tamer delivered his lecture in the Patriarch Ignatius IV Hall, in the presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Ephraim (Kyriakos) of Tripoli, El Koura, and Dependencies, the Institute Faculty, students, and specialists.
Father Porphyrios Georgi, Dean of the Institute of Theology, addressed the audience. He welcomed and introduced Professor Dr. Georges Tamer. Then, Dr. Tamer spoke about the concept of time in Christianity and Islam. He concluded that Christianity and Islam consider Time as one of God’s creations. Time is a bare frame in which humans live. However, Islam, according to Dr. Tamer, narrows the extent of freedom given to humans. The lecture was concluded by a variety of questions, to which Dr. Tamer joyfully gave answers. This lecture was the last of a series of lectures delivered by Dr. Tamer at the Institute within the academic exchange program between the Institute and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany.
