المؤتمر البيبلي الرابع عشر
استضاف معهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقي اللاهوتي "المؤتمر البيبلي الرابع عشر" الذي تنظمه الرابطة الكتابية في الشرق الأوسط في يومه الأخير، وذلك صباح الخميس الواقع فيه 5 شباط 2015. تحت عنوان "سفر الخروج: أطلق شعبي ليعبدك". افتُتح اليوم بتراتيل حول الخروج أدّتها جوقة معهد القديس يوحنّا الدمشقي اللاهوتي، ثمّ ألقى عميد المعهد قدس الأب بورفيريوس جرجي كلمة ترحيبيّة بالمؤتمرين، ومما جاء في كلمة العميد: " بالإيمان إبراهيم حين دعي أطاع أن يخرج... غير عالمٍ إلى أين يأتي" (عب 11: 8). فالخروج يا أحبّة مبدأ كتابي تأسيسي، عليه يقوم الوعي الديني لانتماء الإنسان فردًا وجماعة إلى هويّة تجعل منه خصّيص الله وشعبه. هذه الغربة، هذا الانسلاخ لطالما كان الأساس لالتصاق الإنسان في الهه سواء في العهد القديم مع نوح وابراهيم وموسى، أم في العهد الجديد مع الرب يسوع الذي يخبرنا إنجيل لوقا في إصحاحه التاسع أنّ موسى وإيليا ظهرا قرب الربّ يسوع في تجلّيه وكانا يتكلّمان عن خروجه الذي كان مزمعًا أن يتمّه في أورشليم... ما أودّ أن اسطّره أنّ أزمة المسيحيّة اليوم هي في كون المسيحيين يتناسون أنّهم نزلاء وغرباء على هذه الأرض وانّ دعوتهم هي إلى الخروج اليومي لملاقاة الإله الحي..." بعدها، ألقى البروفيسور جان لوي سكا من المعهد الكتابي الحبري في روما محاضرة بعنوان "القضايا الرئيسية في سفر الخروج"، وتلتها أسئلة ونقاش. في القسم الثاني، ألقى الأب جان عزّام من جامعة الكسليك محاضرة بعنوان "الوصايا العشر وتوسّعها لدى الآباء"، كما ألقى الدكتور دانيال عيوش من جامعة البلمند محاضرة بعنوان "موسى في عظة استفانوس"، وتلا ذلك نقاش حول المواضيع التي تناولها المؤتمر. اختُتم هذا النهار بكلمة منسّق الرابطة الكتابيّة في الشرق الأوسط الأب أيّوب شهوان، أعلن فيها عن المؤتمر البيبلي الخامس عشر الذي سينعقد في عام 2017.
Biblical Conference in Balamand
On Thursday, February 5, 2015, the St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology welcomed the “fourteenth Biblical Conference” organized by the Biblical League in the Middle East under the title “The Book of Exodus: Let my people go, so that they may worship You.” At the beginning, the Choir of the Institute of Theology chanted various psalms and hymns related to the Old Testament and the Book of Exodus. Then, the Dean of the Institute of Theology, Fr. Porphyrios Georgi, opened the sessions by welcoming the participants.
The Dean spoke about the theme of conference saying that, “Exodus is a foundational Biblical principle upon which the identity of the people belonging to God is formed as a religious consciousness. This alienation, this detachment, has always been the basis for the bonding between an individual and his God, both in the Old Testament with Noah, Abraham, Moses, and in the New Testament with the Lord Jesus. The Gospel of Luke, Chapter 9, informs us that Moses and Elijah appeared next the Lord Jesus in the Holy Transfiguration, and were speaking of His exodus, which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem… What I would like to emphasize is that the crisis of Christianity today lies in the fact that Christians have forgotten that they are guests and strangers on this earth, and that their calling is to “go out” daily to meet the living God... "
The conference had three speakers for the day: Professor Jean Luis Ska, from the Pontifical Biblical Institute of Rome, spoke about the “Main Challenging Issues in the Text of Exodus.” Professor Ska was followed by Father Jean Azzam, from the University of the Holy Spirit-Kaslik, who gave a presentation entitled “The Ten Commandments and the Fathers.” Finally, Dr. Daniel Ayuch, from the St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology, University of Balamand, spoke about “Moses in the Speech of Stephanos.” A discussion period followed, and the day ended with a word from the Coordinator of the Biblical League, Fr. Ayoub Chehwan, who announced that the 15th Conference will take place in the year 2017.
